Is the Huawei P30 eSIM compatible?
Use the page content field for the main answer, steps, screenshots, and troubleshooting guidance.
The Huawei P30, along with its variants P30 Lite and P30 Pro, does not support eSIMs, limiting itself to the use of physical SIM cards. However, newer models from the brand, such as the Huawei P40, Mate 40 Pro, and Pura 70 Pro, include this feature. If you want to check your device's eSIM compatibility, here's how to do it and what alternatives are available if you already own an eSIM.
To determine if your Huawei P30 can accommodate an eSIM, you have two simple approaches: one through the phone's settings, and the other using a specific code.
The first method involves navigating to your device's settings. Go to the Settings section, then tap Mobile data network, followed by SIM card management. If the option to add an eSIM is not visible on the screen, this confirms that your model is not compatible.
The other option involves dialing *#06# from the Phone app. If you access the keypad and enter this code, the absence of an eSIM ID code also indicates incompatibility with the eSIM.
If you have already purchased an eSIM but cannot use it in your Huawei P30, several solutions are available. You can use it in another unlocked device that supports this technology. If the eSIM has not yet been activated, consider saving it for a future trip. Alternatively, you can give it to a friend or family member who has a compatible device.
