How do I download and configure the eSIM?

Use the page content field for the main answer, steps, screenshots, and troubleshooting guidance.

To install an eSIM on your phone, a reliable and secure internet connection is crucial.

The eSIM profile can be downloaded either by scanning a QR code or by manually entering the activation code in your device's settings. To minimize typing errors, scanning the QR code is recommended.

Once the eSIM is downloaded, several steps are required to activate it:

  • Choosing the mobile data connection: When an eSIM and a physical SIM card coexist in your phone, it is essential to specify which one will be used for mobile internet access.

  • Enabling data roaming: Since most eSIMs are not compatible with local connections, it is imperative to enable data roaming for the eSIM.

  • APN configuration: Generally, APN settings are automatically configured for almost all eSIMs purchased through the Mobimatter store. However, for some less common devices, manual setup may be required, and the necessary information will be provided at the time of purchase.

  • Disabling Wi-Fi and waiting: To allow your phone to communicate properly with the carrier's systems and activate the eSIM, it is recommended to disable Wi-Fi and wait three to four minutes. This process requires no action on your part other than patience and not interrupting the procedure by re-enabling Wi-Fi.
