On major Portuguese highways such as the A1 between Lisbon and Porto, the A2 towards the Algarve, or the A22 on the south coast, the connection generally remains reliable for navigation. Shorter interruptions may occur inland, towards the Serra da Estrela mountains, or on some secondary roads in the Alentejo region. Downloading your maps for offline use is still a good precaution for long journeys.
At Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport, the eSIM usually connects within moments of exiting airplane mode if it has already been correctly installed.
