To manage your mobile data usage on an Android device, it's a good idea to set limits. This allows you to control your consumption and avoid exceeding your data allowance. Here are the steps to configure this feature, whether you have a Samsung Galaxy or a Google Pixel.
For Samsung Galaxy devices:
Start by going to your Settings, then select Connections. Next, go to Data usage. Make sure mobile data is enabled. Once that's done, look for the Billing cycle and data warning option.
You then need to set the billing cycle based on your arrival date in your destination country. Next, enable the option to receive a data overage warning and enter the desired value. For example, for a 10GB plan, an 8GB warning might be appropriate. Finally, enable the feature to set a data limit which, once reached, will automatically disable your mobile data.
For Google Pixel devices:
Go to Settings and select Network & Internet. Then tap SIM cards. Make sure mobile data is enabled, then select Data warning and limit. Set the mobile data usage cycle based on your arrival in the country.
Enable the option to set a data usage warning and enter the value, for example, 8 GB for a 10 GB plan. Finally, set a data limit which, when reached, will automatically cut off your mobile data access.
By following these instructions, you can better manage your data usage and avoid unpleasant surprises on your bill.
